Must-Watch Christmas Movies for a Cosy Student Night in
With the festive season well and truly upon us, we’re getting into the Christmas spirit. We couldn’t think of anything better than getting cosy so we’ve put together a list of some of our favourite festive movies. Let us know if your favourites made the list!
Home Alone
We couldn’t think of a better start to this list than with the iconic Home Alone films. Home Alone 1 & 2 are two of the most recognisable movies from the 90s. They follow young Kevin’s antics as he is accidentally left alone at home. Packed full of humour and nostalgia, they are understandably the most memorable Christmas films.
Elf
Often described as heartwarming and timeless, Elf is another classic Christmas comedy. With its colourful characters, original and creative plot & stand-out performance by Will Ferrell.
The Holiday
With an all-star cast and feel-good plot, The Holiday provides a perfect balance of romance and comedy for the festive season. We love the picturesque settings of the English countryside and cosy California alongside the themes of friendship and love, making The Holiday a beloved Christmas film.
The Polar Express
We couldn’t make a Christmas movie list without adding an animated film to it and The Polar Express is perfect for embracing the enchantment and delight of the festive season. Based on a classic children’s book, The Polar Express magically brings to life the tale of a boy’s journey to the North Pole. Beautifully animated with motion capture, alongside a fantastic soundtrack, The Polar Express is enjoyable for all audiences.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas
A timeless classic of a grumpy green recluse who originally despises Christmas is a story with the perfect blend of humour and emotion, reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas. We love this alternative way of festive storytelling that truly captures the magic and joy of this special day.
