Nurtur Life in September 2024
A fun start to the academic year and check-in weekend here at Nurtur Student Living.
We closed out the Summer by extending our Instagram cleaning bundle competition at Nurtur House, allowing more students to enter and have the chance to win cleaning goodies in time for their arrival. Today we will be picking a lucky winner and for those who miss out stay tuned for future giveaways.
Congratulations to Shannon who won the competition over at Canterbury Hall, we now have a competition to win a £20 Amazon voucher. Canterbury Hall students can follow the Instagram page, like the giveaway post and share it on their story for a chance to win here. (Competition ends on the 16th of October)
Foodie Friday made its return as we continue to offer free breakfast to students every Friday morning, don’t forget to stop by our reception areas for a fuel stop if you’re out and about!
Following on from freshers week, we offered a range of freebies throughout the month including free bottles of Lucozade to help manage that anticipated hangover.
For the first time, we introduced two new events, allowing students to learn new skills and meet their peers.
During ‘Cook With Us’ we led a demonstration giving residents the chance to learn new cooking skills from scratch or improve on existing talents. For ‘Grow With Us’ we encouraged residents to set themselves a challenge to keep a plant growing and thriving from just a seed. Thank you to those who attended both events, we look forward to hearing your feedback and welcoming you to future events.
We invited community officers from the NHS and police to inform students about local services and how to stay safe while studying at university. Our budgeting event also gave advice and support to help students navigate financial costs at university.
To finish the month and celebrate joining Nurtur we ran our welcome parties which were a great chance to unwind, socialise and relax. Preston DJ ‘That Blonde Girl’ joined us at Canterbury Hall for a live performance to make the event extra special.
