Nurtur Student Living wins Best Student Accommodation Company 2026

Nurtur Student Living has been named Best Student Accommodation Company 2026 – UK at the BUILD Awards, recognising our commitment to student wellbeing, resident experience, quality accommodation and supportive communities.

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Nurtur Student Living has won Best Student Accommodation Company 2026 – UK at the BUILD Awards.

But what makes this recognition particularly meaningful is what sits behind it. The award reflects our approach to creating student accommodation and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) that goes beyond simply providing somewhere to live.

From modern studios and excellent facilities to dedicated wellbeing support and welcoming communities, we put the student experience at the heart of everything we do.

Why did Nurtur Student Living win?

The BUILD Awards recognised Nurtur’s commitment to creating supportive, enriching student living experiences across our communities at Nurtur House, Sheffield and Canterbury Hall, Preston.

Here are some of the key reasons behind the award.

Student wellbeing comes first

Moving away from home and starting university is a major transition. We believe student accommodation should provide more than a comfortable place to live – it should help students feel supported and connected.

Our Nurtur THRIVE wellbeing service gives every Nurtur resident access to a fully funded course of therapy, including four sessions with our in-house counsellors. We also partner with Student Minds, train team members as Mental Health First Aiders and provide health and fitness activities for residents.

Our approach supports the whole student, helping residents build independence, friendships and a sense of community.

Quality student accommodation and community

Students have access to modern studio accommodation designed around comfort, privacy and independence.

Both developments offer private kitchens and en-suite bathrooms, alongside communal facilities designed to help residents relax and socialise. These include on-site gyms, cinema rooms, roof terraces, fast Wi-Fi and smart laundry facilities.

But great student living isn’t just about the building. Our teams work hard to create friendly communities where students can meet people, build friendships and feel at home.

Our residents tell us we’re getting it right

One of the strongest indicators of the Nurtur experience is feedback directly from our residents.

In the 2026 Global Student Living Index, Nurtur achieved Platinum Status, the highest level of recognition awarded by GSL, and is a finalist in four award categories, announced in October 2026. This recognition is based on verified resident feedback.

Nurtur achieved a GSL Index Score of 90.8, 14.1 points above the UK Private Halls benchmark. Our Net Promoter Score was 70, while 99% of residents rated their experience as Good or Very Good.

Residents have also shared hundreds of five-star reviews across Google and Student Crowd, with feedback highlighting our modern accommodation, facilities and supportive teams.

What makes Nurtur different?

For us, there isn’t one single feature that defines great student accommodation. It’s the combination of quality accommodation, resident service, wellbeing, community and engagement.

Our award reflects the work of our teams and, most importantly, the experiences of the students who call Nurtur home.

We’re incredibly proud to be recognised as Best Student Accommodation Company 2026 – UK, and we’ll continue working to create student accommodation where people can live, connect and thrive.
