Creating Spaces to Thrive.

Welcome to The Nurtur Group, your third-party management provider and developer.

Home should be everybody’s safe space… A place to learn, thrive, connect, and have fun.

We exceed client expectations, whether it’s residents, university partners, or investors, resulting in long-term shareholder value.

The Nurtur Group has been storming the market since 2018. We’re bursting with energy and avidity and we’re ready to deliver.

Our Expertise

Since our inception in 2018, The Nurtur Group has mobilised one building in Sheffield, acquired a second and third in Preston, and is developing a fourth in Lancaster, with a fifth site in Leicester in the pipeline. The company goal is to have 11 buildings under management by 2026.

The Nurtur Group consists of four elements;

Our Portfolio

Nurtur House, Sheffield
Our flagship property, Nurtur House opened in Sheffield in 2020 amidst the global COVID pandemic. Designed with student wellbeing in mind, students enjoy ample social spaces alongside the privacy of their studio apartments, all of which benefit from natural light with well-considered placement of windows throughout. Nurtur House has been recognised by many award platforms over the last two years, including The Student Accommodation Awards based on student feedback received in the National Student Housing Survey.

Canterbury Hall, Preston
Our parent company, Fraser Morgan developed Canterbury Hall in 2016. The 191-bed property boasts four large communal spaces for residents to enjoy social time, before retreating to their studio with a private kitchen and ensuite. Having created the Nurtur brand in 2018, we began managing the property under our management company in 2020, breathing new life into the property with a £65k refurbishment.

The Warehouse Apartments, Preston
Nurtur Student Living was approached to manage The Warehouse Apartments in 2022. This led to the birth of Warehouse Students, a management company that delivers the same levels of service expected from Nurtur Student Living, but for buildings thast6 not yet at the standard expected from Nurtur buildings.

Our Culture

Nurtur proactively encourages a holistic approach to health and well-being and we focus on looking at the whole spectrum of personal wellbeing. It’s what makes us unique.

Student Minds – Nurtur has linked with ‘Student Minds,’ a charity organisation focussed on providing mental health and well-being support to all students.  This online platform allows students to log on and access support when they feel they need it.

Mental Health First Aid – We take the mental health of our students seriously and is what makes us stand out from other providers. All our onsite staff (including the cleaners) are trained as Mental Health First Aiders so we can spot any signs of concern with the students and discuss it where we feel necessary. Our head office team including our MD are also qualified which means the wellbeing of our staff as well as our students are our priority.

Health and fitness – Each building is different but where possible we include a variety of health and fitness classes including walking, yoga, tai-chi, meditation, etc. We also encourage meditation, prayer, and breathwork as a form of positive mental health. We know that if we focus on all areas of our life, it’s more likely we will stay in balance, so our events team ensures the social calendars have a mix of events to cover a wide range of topics. Our online portal has a health section that includes information on local doctors, health practitioners, University Support, and dentists so that the students can access these services when needed.

Independence – We understand that for many students this could be their first time living away from home, so we also incorporate information and talks on developing community living skills including finances, cookery, safety, cleaning, respect, communication, and understanding cultural differences.Growing up and becoming independent is a huge part of why students go to university, and we know supporting this makes a huge difference to them becoming resilient young adults.

Social Events – The social events calendar include a variety of experiences that are relevant for the year groups who are living in the building, the spaces within the building, and the city the building is in and the experiences are designed to allow all students to feel part of the community whether that be within a group or individually.  Depending on the spaces available this can include events such as exercise classes (spin classes/yoga/tai chi etc), communal cookery classes, movie nights, gaming/pool/table tennis competitions, sports events, breakfasts, special events, book clubs, quizzes, DJ/Karaoke nights.

Safety – Feeling safe has a major impact on wellbeing so we provide a safe environment within the building with fob entry systems, limited access to floors, cameras in lifts and prominent areas, and security staff or student wardens on site after hours.

More recently operational teams have worked closely with regularity compliance of COVID, creating safe spaces and regular deep cleaning.
