Therapy Dogs Visit

Nurtur residents at Canterbury Hall, Preston had an extremely special visit this week!

We welcomed Bronwen and Christine from the national charity, Therapy Dogs Nationwide for an afternoon of relaxation, fun, and lots of cuddles.

Therapy Dogs Nationwide is made up of a group of wonderful volunteers who visit establishments with their own dogs to provide comfort, distraction, and stimulation.

The benefits of Animal Assisted Therapies (AAT) include improvements in general health and well-being and increased confidence levels.

With exam season on the horizon, this was a very welcome distraction for Nurtur students!

Heidi Hawkins, marketing manager, commented: “I know personally just how much comfort animals can bring, and was delighted that TND were able to squeeze us in.

“The work the volunteers carry out is just amazing, and that’s why we were delighted to match the donations raised by our students. We hope to support TND again in the future, as they continue to bring joy to the nation.”
