Using the Laundry Room
Using the Laundry Room at Nurtur House couldn’t be easier. From the comfort of your studio, check if there are any machines available using your Student Portal, avoiding any unnecessary trips to the lower ground floor.
The machines can be operated via the Circuit Laundry App – download it to your phone and top it up using PayPal or a credit/debit card.
If you don’t have a smartphone then don’t worry, we can issue a laundry top-up card. Just visit reception and we’ll be happy to help.
There are instructions in the Laundry Room to help you operate the machines. One wash cycle costs £3.00, and a 50 minute dry cycle costs £1.50.
Please make use of the dryer machines where possible. If you decide to dry your clothes in your studio, make sure you have your bedroom window open to prevent condensation.

Check for loose items
Check pockets for any forgotten items before you pop your wash on. There’s nothing worse than seeing that money spinning in soapy water.
Separate your clothes
Make sure you don’t mix light and dark clothes, as the hot water can cause the colour to run and ruin your items.
Don’t overfill the machine
It can be tempting to overfill the machine to get all your dirty washing done in one go, but this might mean that your clothes aren’t able to be properly clean. Keep your loads small and often.
Check the labels on clothes
You don’t want to put your delicate clothes on a wash that’s too hot and cause it to shrink! Check your clothes labels for any special instructions.
